| For once "getting to" your destination can be an added pleasure to the time spent here. You will pass along rolling vineyard, covered hills, picturesque farms and barns and their residents, sheep, cattle and horses, redwood forests, and breathtaking coastal views. Allow time for photo stops and perhaps a picnic along the way and enjoy the trip. | ||

Caution: Do not drive your RV on Mountain View Road between Boonville and Manchester or on Highway 1 between Legget on Hwy 101 and the coast. These roads are narrow, curvy and have up to 16% grades. |
Pay particular attention to the not recommended routes in red below
|
All of the possible routes to our campground are spectacular drives. You can travel North or South on Highway 1 to get here. Both are strikingly beautiful but challenging drives, especially in long rigs. If you choose Highway 1 you will want to keep your camera ready and take plenty of turnouts. It is very hard to drive this curvy road and see the sites at the same time. If you are a very good driver you should not shy away from this route, if not you should take the inland route. The most popular route is to take Highway 101 to Cloverdale (Northbound) or Ukiah (Southbound). Then take Highway 128 at Cloverdale or Highway 253 at Ukiah. From both directions follow the signs to Boonville. Continue through Boonville on Hwy 128 to Hwy 1. When you see the pacific ocean (at mile marker 0) turn left over the Navarro bridge for 20 miles. Turn right on Kinney Road for 1/4 mile, we are the first driveway on the right. This route will take you through the Redwoods State Park and along the Navarro River. This is a beautiful drive with places to pull off and enjoy the redwood trees. If you are traveling north on Hwy. 101 and want to take the slow but beautiful coast route take Hwy 12 West in Santa Rosa, through Sabastopol to Bodega Bay then North on Hwy 1. If you have never traveled California's beautiful Highwy 1 we suggest you take the inland route through Boonville. Once you get here you can use your tow or towed vehicle to check out Highway 1 and see if you want to return a different way. |
| Manchester is a tiny town. Be sure to gas up before driving to the coast. Do not arrive on an empty tank |
|
Do not take Mountain View Road between Boonville and Manchester in your rig. This is a windy, curvy, twisty, rough and steep road. This road is for cars only. Do not take Hwy 1 out of Legget in a long rig. It is a nice ride on a motorcycle but too rough, steep and curvy in for long RV's. An alternate is to continue on to Willits and take Hwy 20 to Fort Bragg then South on Hwy 1. |
