Fort Bragg Whale and Wine Festival in Fort Bragg (41 miles North). You can watch the whales from the Mendocino Headlands or take a charter boat out of Fort Bragg, or a airplane to get a closer look. The Fort Bragg Whale Festival brings regional micro-breweries and wineries to town. Other events include arts & crafts fair, chowder tasting, art exhibits and walks through the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens and MacKerricher State Park. Also that weekend, the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse offers great activities for the whole family, including information on the migration of our gentle giants of the Pacific. Area = 2-20. 7th annual Gualala Arts Whale and Jazz Festival. The Whale & Jazz Festival will observe a one-year hiatus in 2012 and promises to return as strong as ever for its 10th Anniversary in 2013. KOA = Easter April 8th - Easter is always celebrated on the Sunday immediately following the first full moon after the vernal (spring) equinox. It can fall anywhere between March 22 and April 25. The Easter Bunny will be here to hop around the park with the little ones (and the big ones too). We have egg coloring, egg hunt and games. Put on your floppy ears and join us on the trail. Have the Easter Bunny deliver your Easter Basket here. Order your Easter Basket with a large stuffed amimal, candy, eggs and lots of surprises for $25.00 KOA = 15th Annual Abalone Contest. You need to be a registered guest to participate. Lots of abalone divers and pickers camp here for easy access to the rocks where the Abs hang out. Winner gets 2 free nights of camping. Check with the office for rules. And the 2011 contest winner was Craig Black with a 10" catch. Please note: we no longer sell fishing license or abalone stamps.

KOA 11th - 12th Care Camp KOA Care Camps Help Children Who Have Cancer. The 13th is Mother's Day - Pay for Friday and Saturday Night is FREE! Mom gets 50% off a great buffet breakfast. AND while mom is taking her nap the kids can join the afternoon art workshop and make her a special gift. KOA = 28th - Memorial Day is always the last Monday in May but we celebrate all week-end with activities to kick off the camping season and get you in the mood for summer. |

KOA = 17th - The third Sunday is Father's Day Week-end. Kids stay free. Wine tasting of local wines and cheeses, all for the price of a Manchester Beach wine glass. Kids join us for a father's day art project on Saturday. Sunday buffet breakfast fathers half price.

KOA = 20st Third Saturday of August. We have a great lip sync contest. Bring your talent to center stage, dress the part of your singer and perform you favorite song. Prizes will be awarded for best performance, worst performance, and the best costume of their singer. We have some costumes and wigs available for those who didn't bring their own. Best of luck to all the stars. See ya back stage. AREA = 28th Great day in Elk. This is a large coastal gethering of locals and visitors 10 miles North on Hwy 1. They have local crafts, food, art, stage acts, pole climbing, a parade and lots of milling around and rubbing elbows. It has been running since 1974 so what does that tell you? It's lots of fun.

KOA = 8th Labor Day Celebration is always the first Monday in September. We say good-by to summer with our Labor Day celebration filled with fun activities for the whole family. The kids love it. AREA = 3,4,5 - Labor Day Week-end: We honor all those hard working people in this country who make it strong and keep it going..WE SALUTE YOU! The Point Arena Harbor Seafood Festival happens 5 miles South. Fresh BBQ'ed salmon and oysters plus seafood chowder, fish tacos, albacore kabobs, seafood gumbo and lot's more from our North Coast waters. Live music, free boat rides, kiddies fishing and dinghy races. Free admission. AREA = 17,18,19 - Mendocino County Fair and Apple Show in Boonville 27 miles east. The normal fair fare plus sheep dog trials, rodeo, classic car show and wool and fiber festival. It's a blast.

KOA 8th Third annual Bocce ball tournament. Two league size courts. Stay and Play or just come for the day. KOA = 24th Our Thanksgiving is open to all. Join us for our Annual Thanksgiving Deep Fried Turkey Dinner for you to gobble up. We provide the turkeys and all you need to do is bring your favorite side dish to share. Its loads of fun. KOA = The Friday after Thanksgiving Santa puts up Christmas lights around the park. Take a hay ride and sing Christmas songs. Santa will be there so the kids can sit on his lap and whisper their wishes. |
